Order your pizza and wait for a flying drone to deliver it. A Russian restaurant launched a pizza delivery service using unmanned helicopters (drones).

The restaurant's name is Dodo Pizza and its drones are flying all over Syktyvkar, a city in Russia, to deliver pizza to customers. The drone pizza delivery service was launched this Saturday. Some curious customers even went on ordering pizza so to see the drone flying in. The pizza expected delivery time is less than half an hour.

It's not the first time pizza is being delivered by drones. Francesco Pizza in Mumbai, India, delivers pizza with drones since May this year.

About the Drones and the delivering process

The drones have eight rotors and can support up to 11 pounds. They have built-in cameras and GPS so to monitor the delivering process.

The pizza can be ordered over the Internet. A warning is sent over to the customer when the drone arrives its destination. When the drone has visual on the customer, the pizza is lowered to the ground via a cable. To prevent the pizza from falling into the wrong hands, be damaged or subtracted, the aircraft is always 20 meters off the ground. Even if someone tries to pull the cord down, an automatic emergency mechanism releases the cable so the drone can fly away home.
